Cool and Wet Weather Forecast
Cool, wet and windy weather is expected on Mt. Baker this week. Snow levels are forecasted to drop to 7,000 ft. by Sunday night and further down to 5,000 ft. by Wednesday night. High winds and new snow are anticipated with snow accumulations on the mountain reaching 1 foot or more above 8,000 ft. Climbers and skiers should remind themselves that this new snowfall may cover up and conceal otherwise wide open crevasses on the routes and glaciers on Mt. Baker. Evaluate crevasses and snow bridges thoroughly and always rope up while traveling on the glacier.
